An ONLINE Radiation Protection short-course offered over two days on topics tailored to suit post-graduate students (Honors – PhD), researchers and personnel working in radiation environments. The following topics will be covered in the two sessions:

- Session 1 (1,5h) o Act and Regulations pertaining to electronic generators of ionizing radiation (Group III hazardous substances) and radioactive substances (Group IV hazardous material)

- The System of Radiation Protection
• Session 2 (1,5h)
o Physical quantities in radiological protection: ▪ absorbed dose

- ▪ equivalent dose
- ▪ effective dose
- ▪ committed effective dose
- ▪ statutory limits
Target audience: postgraduate students, and junior research staff working on projects involving radioactivity or ionizing radiation
No. of lectures/contact sessions: 2 sessions of 1,5 hours each
Course assessment method(s): Test
Course certificate to be issued:
- • Attendance (provided attendance > 90 %, submission of all assignments)
- • Successful completion (provided attendance > 90 %, and > 60 % average in assessment(s))
