DESCRIPTION:iThemba LABS is hosting the next International Conference on I
 on Sources (ICIS’27) in Cape Town. This 22nd edition of this conference 
 will take place from 12 September – 17 September 2027. It is worth menti
 oning that this conference has never been hosted on the African continent.
  \n\nThe conference venue will be held in the Cape Town Foreshore within 2
 5 km from the Cape Town International airport for ease of access by the de
 legates. \n\nThe scientific program of the conference will cover themes of
  the ion sources science and technology that are relevant to the productio
 n of ion beams for scientific research and for applications. The conferenc
 e will be attended by high-profile scientists from leading research instit
 utions across the globe. \n\nDepending on interest from the community\, th
 e conference will also include a satellite event which will specifically t
 arget students seeking entry into the field. It is envisaged that this ini
 tiative will contribute to human capital development in this scarce skills
  niche area of Accelerator Physics.\n\nAn International Advisory Committee
  (IAC) and a Local Organising Committee (LOC) has been established to over
 see the conference organization.  The LOC\, in consultation with the IAC\
 , will make the final decisions regarding the venue selection. \n\nhttps:/
