Call for Abstracts

  • Opening day
  • Submission deadline
First Announcement The aim is to hold a workshop focusing on the physics vision for high energy-resolution nuclear spectroscopy with magnetic spectrometers and the associated requirements to achieve these measurements. A focus (although not exclusively) will be on 0° and small angle scattering and reactions and recent developments and future plans at RI beam facilities. The workshop forms part of the German / South African “Year of Science 2012”, in recognition of the iThemba LABS / University of the Witwatersrand / Technical University Darmstadt collaboration now spanning nearly two decades. Main Topics: Electric and spin-magnetic dipole response Charge-exchange reactions and Gamow-Teller strength Fine structure of giant resonances Alpha cluster structure Mixed-symmetry states Light-ion reactions of astrophysical interest Deadline for submission of abstracts: 28 September 2012
