DESCRIPTION:IFLA Public Libraries Section Satellite Meeting\n\nPublic libr
 ary services around the world have reached the cross-roads. Collection for
 mats and community needs continue to evolve at a rapid pace. Technology pl
 ays a major role providing people with access to information\; bringing li
 brary staff out from behind the desk to engage with users and delivering p
 rograms and activities\, to suit the local community.\n\nHow do Public Lib
 raries cope with these changes? How do we plan and adapt our spaces to inc
 orporate these changes? How do we reorganise our service models? These are
  the questions we will explore through our exciting and very practical pro
 gram.\n\nWe will be adopting a multi-pronged approach with a combination o
 f keynote speakers\, targeted papers and workshop sessions. Our dynamic sp
 eakers bring perspectives and experiences from around the world including 
 Australia\, Denmark\, Japan\, South Africa\, Singapore\, Sweden\, Switzerl
 and and the USA.\n\nThe conference will be hosted by the City of Cape Town
  Library Service and the Western Cape Provincial Library Service in partne
 rship with IFLA’s Public Libraries Section.\n\nDelegates will have the o
 pportunity to workshop solutions for service delivery options with their p
 rofessional colleagues and to share and learn from others’ experiences. 
 Public library colleagues from around the world have already indicated the
 ir intention of attending and will bring with them a wealth of experience 
 that will lead to stimulating discussions.\n\nThe Satellite will be held a
 t the Goodwood Community Hall\, Cape Town and delegates will travel by bus
  from the main IFLA Congress venue. There will be an opportunity to visit 
 the Cape Town Central Library.\n\nWe look forward to meeting you in South
