The following social functions are planned for participants to the ANSTT3 Workshop 2020.
Monday evening 15 April: a tour of the iThemba LABS facilities, followed by a welcome function.
Tuesday evening 16 April: Spit braai (lamb on the spit barbeque) at iThemba LABS
Thursday evening 18 April: Visit to South African Astronomical Observatory, Cape Town including a tour and star gazing (weather permitting)
SAAO Visit Thursday 18 April
Experience a guided walking tour of the SAAO grounds, followed by a fascinating History Tour highlighting key moments that shaped the South African Astronomy Landscape and that of the SAAO.
We end the evening with stargazing at the historic 123-year-old McClean Telescope and Museum, where you'll have the chance to observe celestial objects, we will also have our smaller visitor telescopes set up.
We look forward to hosting your delegation for an evening of exploration and discovery at the National Research Foundations, South African Astronomical Observatory (SAAO).
