This inaugural event will bring together members of the national quark-gluon plasma community - both theorists and experimentalists working in high-energy heavy-ion physics and nuclear astrophysics - for the first time in a dedicated setting.

This community has grown considerably over the last several years, and it now seems both timely and necessary to begin building stronger connections across institutions and disciplines.
