Description
Scouting and cosmic-ray data extend CMS sensitivity into regions the standard trigger and analysis pipeline cannot reach. Scouting streams have enabled a growing suite of searches for physics beyond the Standard Model; we highlight recent results and new directions that pair them with modern machine-learning methods to expose signatures conventional approaches would miss. The cosmic stream in particular remains largely untapped, offering significant potential for beyond-the-Standard-Model searches that, freed from the energy scale of LHC collisions, could reach regions inaccessible to conventional collider analyses.
