Description
γ-rays in the energy range 6 – 38 MeV were produced and sent into two large volume LaBr3:Ce crystals (3.5’’x8’’) at the NewSUBARU facility, with the goal of investigating the response function of the detectors. By comparing the experimental spectra of the two detectors we deduced the linearity of the system, separately of the two crystals and of the two PMT + VD associated. Moreover, Monte Carlo simulations were performed in order to reproduce the experimental spectra. The photopeak and interaction efficiencies both in case of a collimated beam and an isotropic source were also evaluated.
