We are pleased to announce a 2 day symposium to celebrate 30 years of research using the iThemba LABS Separated Sector Cyclotron. The event will be held at iThemba LABS on 25 – 26 October 2018, and will precede the 6th International Conference on Collective Motion in Nuclei under Extreme Conditions (COMEX6) that will be held from Monday October 29, 2018 to Friday November 2, 2018 in Cape Town, South Africa.
The Symposium will consist of invited presentations featuring research highlights and technical developments spanning the 30 years of operation of the SSC, and will cover the following topics:
Accelerator Development
Nuclear Physics Research
Hadron Therapy and Radiation Biology Research
Isotope Production and related research
Attendance will be free of charge, however delegates will have to register. Lunches will be provided and there will be a barbeque on the evening of the 25th October. iThemba LABS will arrange transport to and from a central location in Cape Town (particularly to accommodate those attending COMEX).
