Description

The Jiangmen Underground Neutrino Observatory (JUNO), with 53 km baseline from a set of nuclear reactors under construction, and featuring an overburden of more than 700 meters, will aim at measuring the neutrino mass hierarchy, as well as many other quantities of utmost importance in neutrino and astroparticle physics. The underground experimental hall, in which JUNO detector installed and characterized by a width of 50 meters., was excavated underneath granite mountain as well as facility halls and tunnels.
The kick-off of the civil construction was on January 10, 2015 and finished at end of 2021. This poster shows layout of underground facility and conditions provided for experiment.
