Description
The MEDUSA in-situ gamma-ray spectrometry system makes use of, amongst others, a CsI detector and GPS-signal receiver to generate radioactivity maps. The system can be used on land, under water and for aerial surveys. The use of this system to tudy mine tailings, terroir (linked to wine production), and anthropogenic environmental radioactivity in South Africa will be discussed.
