This Symposium is jointly organized by iThemba LABS, South Africa and Joint Institute for Nuclear Research (JINR), Dubna, Russia.
The Symposium will be held at the Krystal Beach Hotel, Gordons Bay (near Cape Town, South Africa).
The Symposium will be devoted to the investigation of nuclei in extreme states, in particular, at the limits of nuclear stability (from very light neutron- and proton-rich to superheavy nuclei.)
The Topics to be discussed are:
• Production of Exotic Nuclei / Rare Ion Beams
• Fundamental Research with Radio-active Ion Beams (RIBs)
• Applications with RIBs
• Nuclear Reactions & Astrophysics
• Nuclear Structure
• Isotopes in Nuclear Medicine
The program will include oral and poster presentations of contributed papers.
Limited financial support is available for South African students and scientists. Please indicate should you wish to apply for such support.
The Organizing Committee encourages the submission of oral and poster contributions in the indicated scientific areas. The Organizing Committee, in consultation with the International Advisory Board, will invite plenary talks and select contributions for the parallel and poster sessions.
